A Maiden's Walk

The Dragon Fly

Down among the bulrushes
A little friend I made
He reminded me of times gone by
When all his kind did raid
And knights fought valiant: to free or die!
For maidens in distress (like I).

He's tamer now and t'is just as well
For though a maiden weep
I fear it will not break the spell
That's made the knight-hearts sleep

  1. Beautiful Rach! I like the maiden title.

  2. So do I. Without the photo would you know she met a dragonfly on her walk?

    1. My English teacher mother has confirmed, without Dragon Fly in the title, one cannot know the catalyst for the poem and make the appropriate links. The photo could easily become separated from the poem (or just think of a recital).
